Welcome to Parrish

Pressed inland from the Manatee River in the northwestern corner of Manatee County, the peaceful community of Parrish is a bucolic dreamscape of spellbinding wildlife and pristine suburbs. Mature and well-established, Parrish is an ideal place to plant roots and cultivate a serene home base where nature and convenience blend.

One of the biggest draws to Parrish is its location, which puts residents within an hour or less of Tampa, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg. Locals can enjoy the best of these urban hotspots without having to endure the day-to-day busyness of city living. Parrish is defined as an unincorporated community, but its long history — which began in the mid-1800s — makes it feel like a permanent fixture of South Florida.

Parrish abounds in mid-sized, single-family homes and regal executive estates that are incredibly affordable compared to many of the urban and resort-community markets. But while these show-stopping properties might have lower price points, they certainly don’t lack in the department of luxury. Waterway views, indoor pools and spa amenities, gorgeous modern architecture — the homes of Parrish are certainly among the most desirable in the county.

What to Love

  • Under an hour from three of South Florida’s brightest cities
  • Laid-back residential lifestyle with plenty of conveniences
  • Abundant nature and outdoor recreation

Local Lifestyle

While Parrish retains its small-town feel, the area has recently seen a surge in development that’s opening up the community to becoming one of the county’s best commuter destinations. Massive residential developments are infusing a sense of modernity into the Old Florida vibes of Parrish, and the local dedication to preserving the area’s heritage and friendly atmosphere means that Parrish is set up to be the ideal blend of growth and friendly charm.

Dining, Entertainment, & Shopping

Though Parrish itself isn’t overflowing with options for retail, fashionistas are just 30 minutes from one of the hottest shopping destinations in all of South Florida: St. Petersburg. From St. Peter Pier to Corey Avenue, there’s a multitude of luxury options for those seeking a little retail therapy.

What Parrish lacks in storefronts, it more than makes up for by way of restaurants. Dozens of sumptuous must-try establishments await in Parrish and its surrounding cities, including places like C&K Smokehouse. Contemporary and family-run, this barbecue joint dishes out satisfying cuisine every time. Ferraro’s Italian Grille is known for its authentic Southern Italian fare, as well as its scrumptious pizzas and subs.

Quirky, engaging, and right on the waters of Manatee River, Woody’s River Roo is an homage to the flavors of Old Florida and features live music performances from Tuesday through Sunday. Símple Mexican Grill has mastered the art of fast-casual, authentic Mexican food, and this foodie-approved eatery makes a perfect pit-stop for an on-the-go lifestyle.

Things to Do

Parrish is abounding in natural resources and outdoor recreation spaces, from community parks to sprawling nature preserves. The nearby Johnson Preserve at Braden River, for instance, contains 44 acres of lush wildlife and diverse ecosystems, including important native species of plants and animals.

Braden River Nature Park is a much smaller facility located within the Lakewood Ranch area, nestled along the Hidden River Trail. Part entertainment venue and part natural escape, Jiggs Landing is a unique location tucked into the freshwater reservoir that’s supplied by the Braden River. Activities here include boating and fishing, kayaking, attending a live music performance, or even renting a cabin and simply enjoying the splendor of the scenery.

The Premier Sports Campus is another Lakewood Ranch amenity that residents of Parrish are able to enjoy, as it lies less than 30 minutes south. With 140 acres of sports fields and facilities, this massive complex serves athletes ranging from youth to professionals.
